Notes from meeting with Carole Lawes and Cerys Davies 25.07.23

On July 25th 2023 3 NDRA committee members met with Carole Lawes, the Trinity Regional Manager for the South West and Cerys Davies, the new Property Manger for North Dock. Some of the issues discussed were included in the question and answer session in the online meeting, others are included the notes below.

HyperOptic Broadband

The standard HyperOptic Offers :
· 50MB asymmetric (ie lower upload than download speed)
· 150MB symmetric (ie upload is same speed as download speed)
· 500MB symmetric
· 1GB symmetric
Highly likely there will be initial signup offers.
If you are likely to be interested than you can “register interest” on
https://www.hyperoptic.com/broadband/home/price-plans/
Select one of the options and “check availability”, then register interest. They will then email you as soon as orders can be placed.
I initially called into the contact centre and was told that they are expecting to be able to take orders from Sept 1st.
I have been in touch with the Project Manager for our installation at HyperOptic.
The initial report was that the installation was progressing well, the fibre infrastructure into the building has almost been completed and they have recently installed their switch technology.
In order for them to supply broadband to North Dock, a primary feeding fibre is supplied and installed by BT Openreach. I asked for an update yesterday and the response was that the primary feeding fibre supplied by BT has now been installed and they are still on target for an August delivery of network consistent with September order taking.
I did also seek confirmation and got it that service will be available to both flats and houses.
