As you are aware there are a number of broken extractor fan vent covers on houses and flats across the site. Many of the vents have birds nesting in them annually, causing further damage, noise and mess. Trinity advise that these vent covers are demised to the owners and will not be replacing them.
The NDRA have therefore obtained a quote from Duraseal who own cherry picker vehicles and are familiar with the site, and there is the opportunity for residents to have their vent covers replaced over the summer.
We have requested that nesting material would be cleared out and vent covers replaced with a plastic downward facing vent, with an integrated grill to prevent birds etc entering. Exact arrangements would be agreed directly between Duraseal and individual owners. The NDRA would not be entering into any further arrangements on behalf of residents following initial contact being established.
The greater number of residents requesting the replacements the cheaper the price on a sliding scale. An example of cost would be:
1-10 residents £85.00 each vent
10-20 residents £75.00 each vent
20-30 residents £65.00 each vent
30-45 residents £55.00 each vent
Billing and payment would be arranged directly between each owner and the company and no responsibility would be taken by the NDRA for this. The NDRA will only be arranging advertising, collating interested parties and passing on your email address and property name and number so that Duraseal can contact you directly.
